The Cardiff Games began as an Olympic and Paralympic legacy multi-sport competition for Primary and Secondary schools from across Cardiff. A number of school sport competition programmes were being delivered in Cardiff by several organisations including the Cardiff Blues, Cardiff City FC, Glamorgan Cricket, National Governing Bodies, schools, school sports associations and local sports clubs therefore Sport Cardiff in partnership with these organisations brought all these competitions under the umbrella of the "Cardiff Games".
Now in it's fifth year, The Cardiff Games will run from September 2017 through to July 2018 offering a variety of opportunities to a range of participants. Each sport / competition is tailored to give as many pupils the chance to represent their school in over 22 sports at 20? different venues across the City.
The Cardiff Games aims to create a clear competition pathway from primary school sport to secondary school sport to community and club sport, ensuring that every child in Cardiff has the opportunity to participate in an appropriate competitive opportunity.
